50 scale nitro to electric?

Can a 50 scale nitro be converted to electric with brushless motors?Has anyone done this and what was the result?Can I do this if I wanted to to say a Raptor or a Falcon?I am not saying I would do this now but later is there a conversion kit or is the weight factor too much?Any info or kits available would be of great interest.
Thanks in advance for any advice

if you learn to trim the hedge with it.. you can classify it as a " power tool" dude.. why ya wanna sacrifice the power? EPA down your back?

No EPA - I am in the middle of noware with a bunch of land.Im wanting to make a quiet heli that can hold the gear I want it to hold.I want to be able to mount a movable infared/color camera and operate it through a laptop.I also want to be able to have the heli do some tasks with minature robotics equiptment of my design.I was thinking if I could get a basic working unit down then I could design and make a few units that would be able to do a few things that could be of benifit as working units for others.This is all just a pipe dream in smoke now but I always try what I dream up.Sometimes it works:) Ill try something like it I was just wondering if what I have available now can be converted or if anyone has tried and what the pros and cons were.

Yeah thats cool stuff.. the forest service uses it alot in land management,, tho.. theyre gas rigs.. JR makes a medium sized electric.. and all the hobby shop owners get giddy when they show it off.. you might wanna look into it. '_;

Just about anything is possible!;)
These guys make bolt in setups for thr Raptor 50 [link]http://www.tppacks.com/products.asp?cat=15[/link]

All the info is out there if you look hard enough. From what I understand it's still reasonably expensive to do, but lots of people have been doing it for a long time now. And it's only getting cheaper....:D

There are some vids of the Szabo's flying one around. The one I've got is called "MWE-05 Heli Demo - Alan Szabo 2-19-05.wmv" but I can't remember where I got it from. More details are: >>2005 Mid-Winter Electric - Helicopter demo by Alan Szabo, Jr. - 2/19/05 - Raptor50 w/"boxed" 1515-2Y & TP4000-10s2p Pro Lite<<

you are a little behind the times thinking you'd "sacrifice power." a properly set-up e-raptor will fly circles around a glow 50. as stated, tppacks.com has some nice 10S conversions.

you mean no smoke and curiously annoying motor sound? No more handling exotic fuels, and messy clean up after flying? Blasphemy!
