Buying a Trex, need suggestions, $800 to blow

Well here goes. Only previous heli experence is hovering a Blade Cp and finding out there has to be something better.
I want a 450XL CDE kit. And I have $800 to blow

I just bought a JR XP8103DT pcm ch30 yesterday. $175
Now I need the rest. Looking at Heli Direct for buying these.

450XL CDE $185
Phoenix - 35 esc $75
4 Hitec HS-56 servos $25 ea.
Electron 6 dual conversion FM rx $55

Futaba GY401 Gyro $140 at Tower

Now motor. Im a newb so dont need a lot of power.
But have to consider whats better than the Align 400LF for about the same price.

Batteries & charger I have no clue. I dont need a 2100mah Im sure.

Did I miss anything? Heat sink. Training gear. Wood blades. Pinions.

See anything that can be bought at a better deal?

Dennis

Hi Dennis,
Nice shopping list so far.

Why don't you think you need the 2100 batteries? I thought they were the norm.

Add a pitch guage.
The Apache 2500 is an inexpensive charger. Runs on 12 volts, so usable at the field. For home use, I run mine on an old computer power supply.

http://www.allerc.com/ has a combo page that lets you choose components.

3s is a 3 cell pack in series, giving you a nominal voltage of 11.1 volts. This is the typical entry level battery. 4s is 4 cells in series, giving you a nominal voltage of 14.8 volts. The use of this battery pack pretty much requires the selection of a motor with a lower kv, or upgrading the head to keep it from blowing apart at the higher head speeds.

Unless you are trying to go advanced, getting a motor with the kv in the 3000 range, and a 3s battery pack in the 2100mAh range is the way to go.
