$40 Fun
I've been into RC planes for like 20+ years and last year most of my RC stuff (planes, radios, engines) was stolen from my garage. This totally unmotivated me. I bought a 15 size ARF Cub and engine but couldn't even bring myself to put it togeather. Anyway, I ordered one of those $40 toy helis and just got it today. Most relaxing fun I've had in RC since we used to fly 100" rudder/elevator only gliders in the foothills. I know it's a toy heli but I'm having fun with it.

RE: $40 Fun
What did you get? I've been reading and learning about rc for awhile. I bought a firebird xl a year ago, but have yet to really have success with it. Now I seem to be leaning towards a heli, but overwhelmed with choices, and the prices.
Maybe a toy heli would be a reasonable start. |
RE: $40 Fun
Honestly it's not much more than something that can hover with very limitted forward/back movement. It is fun, easy to fly, and did it's purpose to re-motivate me. Right now I'm trying to decide which entry level Dragon Fly I'm going to buy. Conventional or counter-rotating. My buddy just got the counter-rotating one so I'll wait until I try it.
Here's the one I got. http://www.raidentech.com/aldoblhe3rcm.html http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/raide...elicopter4.jpg |
