Micro Helis Hovering in Circles

Hi Guys,

All Micro helis seem to hover in circles (about 2-3 feet in diameter)...
What's the reason?
Is it the cheap links and swashplate?
Will an upgraded swashplate improve hovering ?

the smaller the heli gets the more responsive yet unstable it becomes.....what your seeing is probably a mix between that and the fact that most micro heli vids showcase less experienced pilots attempting indoor hovering in confined spaces....convective turbulence is always difficult to overcome in a small room at a low altitude hover.... i could hover my blade CP indoors without so much as a twitch ...but having a decent area to fly in really helps!!

Also a major reason why you see that is because most micro RTF heli's are fixed pitched. And like I also have Blade CP, it does have collective pitch in the main rotor blades but the torque from the little tail motor can cause instability due to slow reaction from the gyro to the response of the motor timing. There is a delay from the time you idle up to the time it takes for the tail motor to increase or decrease in speed. The motor just isn't fast enough to keep up with the duration of the ccpm main rotor blades because of it's fixed tail rotor. During rapid pitches it's impossible to stay completely stable. The Blade is however a neat little heli. You can't beat the price for what it is, but I just don't think that the 4 in 1 electronic box was a good idea.
