Digital or not?

Hi all.
Well my trex 450XL is on it's way :o) along with a used GY401 gyro, now I'm confused as to what servo to get for the tail, some say Hitec "HS56HB" others say to go digital, for the same price as the HS56, I can get the HDS-877 Micro Digital Servo (see below) my ? is, why digital and why only on the tail

I'm also thinking of getting the Spektrum DSM DX6 (any thought's on that would most welcome) I've read the supplied servo's are quite good so what's wrong with using one of those on the tail (this is all very new to me).

Thanks to everyone, without these forums I would be lost.

RE: Digital or not?

I answered this in another thread but it comes down to this. A 401 will work ok on the tail with just about any applicable servo. If you want better performance, as in the tail will hold better especially when you start doing aerobatics and backwards flight, then a better servo will work better. You get what you pay for. I can tell you this, if you fly them side by side and see how a digital (thats properly setup) holds you will be on the phone ordering one on your way home.

RE: Digital or not?

Im using the DX6... im just waiting on a new spur for my test flight.... I have read alot about people liking the S75 servo on the tail and all around the heli... the S75 are the servos that come with the DX6.... The radio looks good and doesnt feel cheap... :D Im using the GY240 because there is really no need for the digital on the tail, plus I saved $50...

The digital servo you are talking about has had some bad problems... check out trextuning.com for info on it... and any other trex stuff will be there...
