Super-Skids

Im a newb pilot and i was going to buy a pair of super skids. From the looks of it i wont be able to fit my training gear. I also understand that they add a little extra weight. A li-po that i am looking at will help that to. So my question is, without training gear, can the added extra weight and width of super-skids help enough to the point that i may not need training gear??? If not i may be able to zip-tie them on. And also, the boom support rods, will those help protect the boom from hard landings, or is it just for looks?

buy them, they are a good upgrade. you won't have any problems with weight and they will help with rough landings.

they do weigh a little more but not alot and that will help you control the heli if you are a new pilot.

i'm happy with them.

RE: Super-Skids

I like them much better than the stock skids. When I switched to the supers I stopped uning the training gear and never looked back. Mine have been through some pretty rough times. The only time I broke a set was when I put the heli in the ground and full hum, sideways when an attempt at a roll went very bad! The skids actually shattered. Other than that I've bumped them around QUITE a bit and they still hold up great. I personally highly reccomend them.

Zip tie the training gear on if you have to.....

Mine fit on it just fine....and I reinforced them with Zip ties.

The Super Skids are the answer to broken LG. I have never broken mine and have done allot of hard landings and a few crashes. I also now use the main frame that comes with them to mount other struts too. Currently using Shogun Struts and skids for a scale fuselage.

It definitely opens you up for different strut options.
