Flybar

Was wondering whats the best way to tell if you flybar is centered for balance rather than just measuring the distance on each side??Is there a more accurate way rather than just measuring, due to a heavier paddle on one side even though they are the same? Is there a way to loosly fit the flybar and spool up the head so they center themselves??? Thanks.

Measure/mark the center point, and then see if the CG (it balances) is at that point...?

OR just find the flybars CG and mount it centered on that position.

Bigairhonda,

You're looking for balance and not necessarily for center, it could be off 1mm +or-. Take off the main blades and tail rotor blades.
A couple grams makes a big difference depending on the heli you have. Spool the heli up, in hand, and feel for any vibrations. If so, mark one of the flybars with a dot of paint or use a magic maker. Just so you know which one is which. If you have any vibrations, move the flybar in one direction. Spool up and retest, if the vibration is worse, then you went the wrong way. Move it the other way. This may take several tries, but it works for me.

Don't even try to loosen the fly bar and spool it up to center themselves, you'd be asking for trouble.
