They had a line of jets out that were wood build up and I think one was even glass. Not very fast but good looking jets. Where did you see these? What were the prices on them? You know micro is geting bigger and bigger they have moded fans now that realy push these things along.

Saw the Kyosho F-16 DF-55 at the local hobby store here in Calgary, Canada
and it was only $150 ! ?
According to the box, it only needs a 4 channel radio with reciever and channel
mixing, a lipo battery, and charger... sounds like a good deal !
I was at a full scale turbine jet rally last summer, and during the lunch break
some people were flying EDF Habu's, and a Mig...and they were "fast"
The Mig was almost as fast as some of the turbines !

Heres the specs on the F-16

Specifications

Wingspan

23.58 in. (599mm)

Kyosho has just announced their latest foam-bodied, ducted fan jet in the form of the F-16 Fighting Falcon DF55 . From their site:

The new DF55 is a brushless ducted fan unit with an impellor diameter of 55mm, which is 10mm larger than the popular DF45. It's installed in a hybrid foam fuselage that sets new standards for scale appearance and durability. The airframe can handle the higher loads that result from the exceptional performance of the bigger ducted fan while remaining incredibly light. The F16 is factory assembled with the brushless motor, micro servos and brushless speed control installed! All you need to do is install a LiPo battery pack and a receiver of your choice, and you're ready to fly one of the most high-performance ducted fan jets available.

This nicely detailed jet should be available sometime this month. For more information, check out

Correction, called the hobby shop, and the price is $159, plus tax... = $166.95.
Asked them to put it on hold for a day or two, til i have time to pick it up...
All that is required to fly it is a 4 channel radio with taileron mixing, which i allready have,
a lipo battery, and charger . Should be able to get flying for under $250 ...wow !
Thought i would look for reviews before i buy, and theyall seem really positive so far
on the google links below! ?
...if theF-16 works out, i'll definatly be getting the F-4 Phantom, and maybe a Raptor,
..anybody flown an A6 Intruder ?

...why only marginal ? ...i figure if i can get into my first rc jet including battery for under $200, not too bad. Ive been flying mustangs, and other planes that are pretty quick ...Is there a better jet available for the money ?

get the phase 3 f16..by far the best edf starter jet..the Kyosho are a bit under powered and it makes them hard to fly if you are not used to jets...War birds are bad jet trainers!

I have the Kyosho Mirage that has been flown about 15 times. THis plane has a fiberglass fuse and built up wings and vertical fin. It is very light, quite stable and predictable in flight, but not very fast. It does hand launch very easily and lands at a very slow speed.

If you are looking for something with a bit more speed and in the same price range with similar construction as the Mirage, you might consider the Great Plane Evader. I have both and actually perfer the Evader because it's a bit larger and speedier than the Mirage. [8D]

Saw the Phase 3 F16 at the local hobby store, and it was only $120 !

I'll try the Kyosho F-16 for awile, since i all ready bought it
and maybe put a bigger battery in it if its underpowered

Definatly lots of choices out there for EDF Jets these days

The new fibreglass Habu looks pretty awesome !
