Hello everyone, long story short I bought this Yellow aircraft F-4 DF RTF and here is what I got, as you can see from the pics she is abused and not close to being ready to fly. I thought this would be a great time to do a EDF conversion along with a much needed Face lift. I want to have this done in time for Kentucky jets!! so wish me luck and please any suggestions with the EDF would be appreciated! I planr to use the fan that was in the jet.

May I ask what is that in the EDF unit? Looks like it was in a barn or outside. The outside of her looks great after some TLC you should have beautiful bird. Good luck and enjoy.

Ok here is where I need some help, I located the CNC conversion parts for my Dynamax fan. Here is where I need help, the motor they recommend is a HET 700-98 but it comes with several KV ratings. For my application should I go with a higher KV rating? The motor is very reasonable at 69.99 im sure its not the high end but if it will give me reasonable speed im fine with it. Also what AMP ESC and battery whould you recommend for this combo? Thanks in advance!!

That's a dynmax unit... which I love
I'd clean up everything really good and just convert that fan to EDF.
Few ways to get it done.
1. contact elecrtic jet factory and they can sell you the parts and get you tips on the conversion. You can run a scorpion 4035- 635 KV on 12s 5000 mah and get right about 4000 watts
your going to need and 100 amp plus ESC .... like the castle ice 160 or 120Hv
2. the other way is to contact fred baldwin and dyn-E-max he has a great conversion kit but sometimes is harder to get parts from
3. Tam Jets now sells a full size dynamax converision....it's the best on the market. But it's more power than you need, on 12s it's making 5800 watts 131 amps and 17 lbs thrust. But you could drop to 10 or
11s and get the amps and watts down
Your going to have so much more power than the old ducted fan setup, so make sure everything is solid and slop free, check the other site that's where us EDF rats like to hide
have fun!!!

It's a very nice unit... I put 50 flights on one in my Tam Jet's A-4
I think it would be prefect. I really like Fred but I will warn you he is slow sometimes so don't be in a rush. With his setup you will need 12s 5000mah at least... and get some good packs 40+C rating
Here is the video of my A-4, that's a 17.5 pound plane:

I just found a new option looking up motor KV for you at scorpion...but this really is over kill for your plane and to much wieght:

It's a drop in for a stock dynamax... but I think they are way off on the power. I think it will be more like 6000 watts.
To be safe get a CC 160 HV 2 and run good cells...I'd go with the 4035-630 KV like I did, it was nice and light and worked great
here is your F-4 running that setup on maiden:
