I am a newbie to electrics so please be patient. My edf has 3 black wires coming out of it. They are labelled A, B, and C. My motor has a blue wire, yellow wire and red wire. Which wire connects to which? Also, the fan unit slides nicely into the forward duct tube. Is this enough to hold it in place, or do i have build a support to screw down the tabs on the side of the fan housing? Do i glue the fan into the duct?

Firstly I think you mean three black wires coming out of the ESC not EDF, correct?. so you simply connect all the wires up and test the motor,if it runs backwards then just swap any two wires . It is as easy as that. The second point yes you should fix the EDF to the airframe using screws if you have lugs if not then you can glue the unit in ,not really recommended as you may want to get at it sometime or you can make a simple strap from ali and fix it down that way. post some photos of what you have there to give a better idea of a solution. For the ducting I usually tape it on using duct tape or if is a slide over fit then some small screws will hold it in place but tape is my preference and I have never had one fail yet, hope that helps.

Thanks Jetster. You have been a big help already. I got the fan running. Next question...how do I wire the UBEC into the battery circuit? Can I simply sauder the UBEC leads to the ESC leads before putting a connector on?

Solder the ubec right on the ends of the esc power leads and finally solder the connector on.

If there arent plywood planks to screw your EDF unit into place I highly recommend using silicone to "glue" it in place.  Just regular old clear or white shower silicone works great. It does a few good things for you. For starters if for what ever reason you need to remove the EDF unit the bond is much easier to break than say two part epoxy. Not to say that it isnt a strong bond because it is very strong. Ive augered in plenty of my aircraft and it never moved. Again IF you need to remove the EDF unit that silicone is easy to remove and wont take any of the foam with it like epoxy will.The other thing that it does for you if your fan rotor is close to being balanced but still a little buzzy it will help dampen the vibration to the airframe.  Now the down side to using the silicone is that it takes a while to cure. I usually let mine set up for about 24 hrs before use. And maybe a little longer if its cold in the garage.
