good little jet, flys well.
if ya haven't already, ya might want to look at parkflyerplastics.com for their clear nose protector for the mig, saves a lot of effort straightening out dinged nose foam.

One of my favorite small jets to fly- and it flies very well...it's a shame that the price is so pricey!!!

I will have to look into that. I just bought a back-up, so if I ding the this one up, I will for sure buy that. Thank you for that information good sir!

That $79.99 price point was what caused me to buy one myself. Looking forward to playing with it soon.

Ok, I looked at the UMX manual and tried to google some info on how to remove the top of the mig to get access to the electronics and more important - how to bind my transmitter to the dang receiver. YouTube is having some problems as I write this post so unable to view several "unboxing" reviews including the one with this post. Can someone post just pictures of how to remove the top of the fuselage and then point out where to place the binding plug to the receiver please? Thankyou in advance.

You don't need a bind plug with these micro planes. Turn on the plane, (plug in the battery). Before you turn on the transmitter. Then turn on the transmitter while holding the bind button down. when the light on the xmiter comes on solid let off the bind button and go fly it. You will love it, then you will want the Micro Habu.................LOL

Guys!

We were sitting around shooting the gums (talking) under the shelter roof of the RC Club as we were watching the wind socks (both digital and fabric) and wondering how the wind got so high in such a short period of time.

As I was contemplating on leaving to the Candy Store with my Sky Bro, here comes Wayne Mendez with his family in his large SUV and was giving them the tour as it is a long weekend (Labor Day).

I looked at the wind socks and decided what the heck!

It flew in perhaps 10 MPH winds and they were not steady!!

Guys,

While I was at our well stocked HOBBY-TOWN USA in Melbourne, Florida, they had this neat board to charge several of these small 2-Cells in Parallel, assuming you have a programmable Lithium Polymer Charger.

The board has a side connector that is used for connecting a Balance device such as the ASTRO FLIGHT Blinky as this is exactly that I use.

Picture showing a typical charge session! (2-Cell, 200mAH, 20C, Lithium Polymer)

Typical "END" State of two charged fully!!

Guys,

Another item that I just could not pass while at the same HOBBY-TOWN USA was one certain E-Flite 2-Cell, 200mAH, 30C Discharge Lithium Polymer Battery Pack!

I flew this one early this morning and it provided a little more punch and found the loops a little larger and sustained inverted flight with ease!

Another battery that I purchased is the LECTRON PRO that provides 35C discharge and 300mAH! Here is a picture of it next to the E-Flite 2-Cell, 200mAH, 30C ! (I have yet to fly my MIG-15 with the LECTRON PRO!)

Love my mini Mig also, great fun to fly in calm conditions.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYkCNCakP4s Also enjoyed your vid on the UMX Habu, I hope to pick one up this week.

My friend in Perth grabbed one last week and loves it.

We use the Nano Tech 260 and 300 Mah Batts, 35-70 C in all our UMX aircraft. About 20% more power and a full minute extra over the Eflite Batts

Here is Jason flying his UMX Habu.

All,
I flew my UMX Mig for 2 seasons before experiencing a problem causing 2 recent crashes. The problem was that the left aileron would fully deflect upwards upon advancing the throttle to full. I was able to control it with full right aileron for a short time before crashing. Note that I had no mixes dialed into the transmitter-JR X9303, and the deflection went away when throttling back. Two weeks ago I boxed up the Mig in the original carton and shipped it to Horizon with a letter of explanation. I quickly received an e-mail confirming receipt and a work order number. Last Thursday I received another e-mail stating the the work order was being shipped. Today, Tuesday, the big brown truck arrives with a large but light carton. Upon opening it I discovered a UMX HABU, the micro version, and a shipping document stating that the UMX Mig has been discontinued. This was awfully generous of Horizon and I look forward to flying the micro HABU. My LHS still has the Mig in stock at the lower price point and I just may pick it up. I do like the scale looks and flight performance of the Mig but it will be interesting to compare it with the Habu. This action puts Horizon at Number 1 in my book.

I just hope the parts for the MIG 15 remain easy to find if that is the case....but over all this is a wonderful little jet to fly!

Turbobearcat,

Noting that you are located in Lebanon, OH., I don't see a problem with Spare Parts for this EDF Micro JET model.

We are dealing with Horizon Hobby, no issues with spare parts.

Our local Hobbyshop can get the parts with no problems unless it's the Phase 3 U2.....parts are drying up for that bird :-(
