Default Where is Dyn-E-Max?

I have sent emails and calls to Fred Baldwin at Dyn-e-max in Indianapolis. I know he had some issues a while back. That was right as I ordered his $1000 fan and motor combo.
Has anyone heard from him lately?
I'd sure like to get my fan and Neu 1527 motor.
Thanks, Hal

It's been 3 years since Fred and I talked. The call went straight to voice mail.
I don't really expect an answer or my fan and motor.
It's been 5 years since I ordered it. <sigh>
I'm disappointed.

I spoke with him a couple weeks ago. He won't answer his phone now after I asked for a refund. Ordered a fan and motor from him back in August. Guess I'm out that money to. What if anything can be done about it?

Yes it is. Be forewarned. I still haven't received my fan/motor from 5 years ago.
Fred and I talked 3 years ago with promises of my stuff.
Still haven't seen it.

Yes the same here. This is the first thine I've been completely and totally ripped off by someone in this hobby. As far as I'm concerned as of now he is nothing but a thief. Please stay away from him and his site.

If he's still taking money via his website and not delivering products, he's committing fraud. I recommend filing a complaint with the FBI's internet fraud center. Here's the link

I hope you can get resolution on this.

Be advised that there is a used (excellent) Dyn-E-Max fan with a Scorpian 630 KV motor on sale in the Jet Classified section of this forum (see page 2). I have no connection to this ad.

Hokie Flyer I took you advise and filed a complaint with the FBI. Don't know what good it will do if I'm the only one. I urge anyone else that has been taken by this fraud to file a claim as well.

Cant help you with your lost money guys, but I can help you out with a fan unit, Extreme 127mm 11 Blade fan with HET 800 series motor is about the best value 5" fan on the market, pricing wont stay at the current level once I need to order housings again as the exchange rate is killing us down under.

What you get is my Extreme 127mm CNC Alloy housing with custom 11 blade ramtec rotor and HET 800-73-590 motor, housing has brackets bonded to it and the fan is dynamically balanced ready to install.
At the current exchange rate you are looking at around USD$400.00 once your bank converts the charge. Housing is CNC'd in Taiwan for me, rotor is made locally here in Melbourne, and the new 50mm HET motor is very good quality, many fan producers are using the HET now.

Fan puts out 8kg thrust on 12 cells on the bench with inlet lip, and 10+kg on 14 cells. It is designed to replace the old ICDF fans from dynamax, ramtec etc. On 12s in the 1.7 metre JTM XxX sports jet it hits 170+mph.

Guys I admire your patience, forget about Dynamax, I stick with more powerful Ramtec anytime. I fly 5 of them with Big Screamer and Scorpion outrunners for years, nothing but the success so far after sorting out right ESCs for this slightly thirstier set ups. $450-Aus. for the whole combo is lot better deal than 1500US.! I'm not here to flog or promote anything, just reporting on my experience. Happy flying.

Firstly they are not talking about Dynamax, they are talking about dyn-e-max, completely different company.

No one uses screamer motors or scorpion motors anymore as they are amp hogs, massive amp draw for the output they produce. This is why ramtec themselves now use the HET 800 series motor in the fan, they use the exact same model as I use and the reason why is because its extremely efficient and light. My Extreme 127mm Alloy housing is about the lightest 5" fan on the market, and very efficient at around 1.5g/w on 12 cells.

Any of my 127mm fan with Scorpion or Big Screamer would puts your fan asleep, your set up would most likely 'puff up' trying to rotate any of my 12-13kg EDF models. I wouldn't care less about your overinflated garage stand figures, I use them in real life, flying them. Keep off my back!

Why are you here? To abuse other modellers? Isn't that why you were run out of rcgroups...

Your old 9 blade scorpion setups are dinosaurs, pulling 180-230 amps is not something any user wants to do these days.
You want to compare fans, get video of your overweight models doing decent speed, and post it up.

Here is mine, Extreme Alloy 11 blade ramtec with HET 800 series motor:
14s in a very large 1800mm span Viper, 170+mph:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Is7yxlpxfb8 And on 12s in a JTM XXX Sport jet also in the 170mph range:
