New 70mm Unit Wind Test
Moderate wind speed. Second half of the video shows the flight after the modifications based on the first test (first half of the video).
Lateral input is about 10%-20% of the available control range, so there is lots of potential lateral thrust available if needed.
Video quality is lower than usual. Youtube rejected to upload the higher definition version…

Next Phase: Auto Folding Wings
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3IdRz1jjaU
In the next phase I will be working on improving the flight time by increasing the horizontal controllability and lift.
I am hoping to be able to ease the throttle on horizontal flight by opening the new foldable wings.
This will be a long and risky test phase where I will look to find the right wing design/location and additional mods for a successful horizontal flight.
The flight logic will be different than an airplane, closer to a rocket…

Folding Bi-Wing Design
I decided to focus on a folding bi-wing design for better lift and visibility.
Pitch/roll axis re-positioned at a 22.5 degree from the original position to support the bi-wing setup.
