Hawk stall!
Must be the worse catapult launch launch with the "Hawk" in the last 9 years. This morn while using very old slight puffed up lipo and not pulling enough tension on my cord, bit wobbly during its stalls but with bit of quick nose drop action, off she went.

Flew catapults in strong wind couple days ago, shows how easily this model can handle it even on low 6S set up. My second flight I accidentally loaded model with the battery I flew day before well d/charged, and only after couple of minutes I wondered why I lost the power mid air?

Another bungee launch design.

Sleek look after some paint brush art work finish.

Honey, down on your knees!

"LET GO", when I say!

Perfect catapult!
Latest addition to my EDF bungee fleet, the first flight asking my Darl to go down on her knees.
Even with lack of power the model launched perfectly.

Weekly action with the "Hawk", flying even off the roughest air strips to demo the easiest way to launch safely.
(Doesn't get rougher)

Ready to go!

Bungee hook release.

Hook drop off.

Some variety.

Pretty rugged strip.

Off she goes!

It wasn't so easy last Sunday while trying to maiden one of my latest creation, the 8S powered Hornet at slightly over 3kg AUW. Launching down wind, off pretty rough grounds and negative AOA, there was no lift off!
Rather than having another go later in the day into the head wind with more tension on the bungee I have decided the safer option to modify my bungee hook up by fitting a new skid fin under the nose for more positive AOA, also making up a new heavy duty sling shot cord for models up to 5kg AUW.

Ready for a maiden.

No lift with negative AOA.

New hook up skid with positive AOA.

New HD cord created for heavy EDF jets.

No problem launching EDF jets it on my own, but always prefer to have someone to release it for me to have full control the moment after release. This time at rather challenging field.

I always try to minimize the bungee cord exposure under the sun. Why would you need a platform, just another hassle. Just finished another sling shooter, this time hotted up with the full metal "Mercury" 64mm fan on 4S. Soon taking to the sky, after couple more coats of clear finish to seal it off.

Full metal Mercury 64mm powered Alfa , sling shoot day outing.
(64mm Mercury powered Alfa jet test flight)
Bit awkward to hold at release,

now fitted with the release probe.
