Sling shooting on very cold, windy, Winters day!

Sling shot into strong Westerly off the beach sand.

Bit of a battle in the wind.

Rather interesting bungee launch with one of my smallest 30mm EDF "Alpha". Bit of a handful to fly, Ailerons were slight off the trim rolling badly left.

One handed sling shot release.

Quick correction required after KE!

Much better sling shot todayafter some re-trim but still KE some 45 deg. after release. More adj. required.

Another dramatic left roll after release.

Great capture shot.

More stable sling launches after new winglet mods.

No more nasty KE after sling release.

More relaxed one hand sling release.

After further mods the catapults are piece of cake with these little handfuls, but landings are another story! I might try to fit a very short thrust tubes to give it a slight down thrust to make the current very nose heavy model back to neutral CofG, but the next build I will definitelly reset the outlets some 3 degree downward, but before I get into 3rd. one, I'll have to write-off one of these, it's only matter of time, but only God knows when, LOL. Another run on doom&gloom day.
(Alfa onJuly gloom)

More mods required to make it perfect!

Not so easy today!!! The scariest sling launch ever!!! I can't believe the model is still in one piece after the horrendous launch!!! Took out my 90mm "Hawk" just to discharge large 6S/9000mA lipo. Couldn't fitt it further back so the model was extremely nose heavy despite fitting 100g aft weight for counter balance. 500 grams heavier than my usual 5Ah packs, I thought it may struggle a bit getting airborne but not this bad! Should have brought my heavier duty cord as I didn't pull it hard enough for launch, landing skids getting bit stuck in wet sand during launch with very little positive AOA. It was a U turn battle to keep it up in KE's before managed to get safe flying speed.
You have never seen anything like it after I load the footage! LOL.

Extreme nose heavy loaded Hawk sling launch.

1/2 a kilo heavier than my norm.

Another outing with my favored sling shooter, 2 runs today off the sand after the picnik lunch in the shade of the gum.

I had a helper to launch it today.
