I use a lot of faskolor water based stuff. Createx is basically the same paint with more colors from a craft store at half the cost so i hear. I have yet to try createx but I might as well give it a shot. Can you throw an extra piece of depron in the kit so I can test paint on it and roll up drop tanks when the build is done?

B
i put a bag of scrap Depron in with the Kit of parts as its the best way to get rid of the scrap hahah

3mm depron will be perfect for the drop tanks

The [8D] Bird is most definatly gonna happen
i was given the wink that a new EDF is comming that will be available on both sides of the Pond
i am hoping that the Stryker flyers will love the speed of the [8D] Bird and with an EDF it will be something different and FAST,

on the other hand the Vulcan is Screaming out to be done,
it wont be a Ballistic Delta but reproduce the original scale flight
i have a list as long as your arm of people who want to see an Electric Vulcan that actually flies like the full size !

it has to be done..

I'm going to start calling you GWS Ray.
the 2-batterybay/nose cones are packaged and ready to go out today,

as a bonus i have put in all the depron pre cut back to the leading edge F.O.C
plus 2 extra F.O.C upper nose cones,

and 2 lower nose cones and one F.O.C
when they arrive in good condition i will send you a paypal for the 2-sets of batterybay/nose cones

Lets See GWS beat that for Customer Care !

that should keep you airbourne for a while

sorry for the delay.. but the T33 took up valuable press and production time
the T33 is causing a bit of excitement here in the U.K.
especially as it blasts around the sky with the wing tip tanks,

your T-33 is winging its way to you TOO [8D]

Ah I love the military channel on HDTV. I've lost count of all of the documentaries I've seen of the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels.

I think the next plane should be either: the F/A-22 Raptor, the F/A-18 Hornet, or the F/A-35 Joint Strike Fighter (newest guy on the block in today's military. Vtol, stealth, lots of , what could be better? It's also supposedly the last manned U.S. fighter, hopefully I'll get to fly it if I chose the AF as my career...supposedly going to be decomisioned in 2040ish)

I hate to whine, but why is there STILL no video of the amazing "on rails" and "like an exocet" performance of this bird?! If I can't own one, I at least want to drool over one.

Cadetman... I know that you like making 'em big... but how small (theoretically) could one of your "Made of Depron" jets be made? I want something a little smaller to fly in a more controlled area...

what you are looking for is one of these..
http://3dfoamy.com/catalog/product_i...products_id=30

its an excellent Kit at a very good price and will fly slow and turn quickly

a true park jet,

the F16 is over 5 ft long and over 40 inch wingspan so it looks Huge in the Air,
and gives good scale speeds and manouvers,

if you want an F16 that flies like an Excocet missile you want one of these
http://www.skymasterjet.com/f16.htm

its only $1195 but with all the extras and a turbine jet you are looking a $8000 to see it fly !

the DepronJet F16 does what its designed to do
its a Big F16 at low cost and flies very well on a 300 watt set up that is very cost effective

i have a UK builder who spent more on a retract system than the Kit cost !!!

Ray;

Did he leave the wing flat, or build it up like the T-33??

If he built it up, I wounder what that did to the flight envelope...

but for $7700 less you can have this http://media.putfile.com/savefile051...F16-Road-Promo

much more fun and less tears when it hits the ground in a less than perfect landing

Hello Ray. What are you guys doing to me??? I knew I should not have started reading the posts here again. Now I really want to build that giant Depron F16! I keep telling myself I'd probably be a better pilot if I could tell when my airplanes were upsidedown. Since I can't get any better glasses the big F16 seems like a fun and affordable solution I still need to get my EDF F18 project dialed in and finish a stock 3D Foamy F18. But I think after that the giant F16 is next! I skimmed most of the posts but didn't notice if the plans for for giant F16 were for sale. If you buy the formed parts you get the building plans? I think I read you got over 100mph on yours? What was powering it and how did the Depron hold up?

Hello PilotSmith

i am reading your F18 EDF.. Nice work
its more advantagous to buy the Vaccum parts only and cut your own depron from the paper templates,
i dont have a radar gun so i wouldnt say it was over 100 for sure !
the vertical was almost non existant,
my prefered set up is a 400 watt tower pro motor on a 4S1P 2000ma 20 C pack with a 10x7 prop,
gives nice speed and excellent climb rate but not vertical,
i like to fly it scale even though its not a scale model,

i am just getting into EDF and thinking of an EDF F16 using this http://www.himodel.com/plane/F76×H4...or_2409-7T.php

the EDF will give 1150 grams (40 ounces) of thrust @13.5 volts and the AUW will only be 32 ounces

i can only but try

Thanks Ray. I just hope I get a complete flight out of her soon. She has survived a lot for the few flights she has had. Hoping my luck doesn't run out before I get it working right. I have to say I am totally sold on using Depron or BlueCore for construction. Very easy to work with and holds up amazingly well on crashes.

Wow, that seems like one great deal for that fan unit you found. 40oz of thrust and it includes the brushless motor for only $29.99?!?! I just checked and that store is located in China (explains low price) and shipping is $7.00 to USA. At that price I can even afford to make my SlowSticks EDF powered! Just kidding. Seems about the same size as the MiniFan 480. Would that be a good unit for the giant F16? I really have no need for the fan unit right now but at that price I'm tempted to get one for my box-o-stuff. I'm sure sooner or later I could put it to good use. Think I'll have my wife add it to my stocking stuffer list for this Christmas.

Do the formed parts for the F16 come with PDF plans to print out so you can cut the Depron pieces yourself?
