Im just looking for replacement fan/brushless motor combos and ESCs. I have read the conversions done by our members down under but would like a list of comparable US sold electrics. Im new the the whole EDF/Brushless scene.

ORIGINAL: subarubrat
I got my GWS EDF64 fans and the GWS blue 2025 motors installed and tested. They certainly feel stronger, one fan feels like it has more pull than both stock ones. That may in fact be true. I recall the one fellow measured 300g thrust on his SU27. The motors are pretty far from a GWS or graupner (maubichi) motor quality and the fans were aweful. The ones I removed had a fair amount of rubbing on the duct and there were hot glue runs on the blades which were sloppily molded. I would bet a set of EDF55 or EDF64 would have made the plane allot more flyable with no other mods. I have a set of 55s with fresh motors but by the time I thought of it I already had these in and it wasn't worth the effort just to experiment. It is ready to fly other than waiting on the 30c 2200s I ordered to arrive, as soon as they do I will get a video or some pics and a description posted.
Zafer, where did you find that brushless version, and what are the specs? I will give you some CG measurements when I get home Friday morning.

I found this on Ebay : http://cgi.ebay.com/New-GWS-Electric...QQcmdZViewItem
Is it the same EDF fan you are using?
Does the motor comes with the fan in this auction, if not where did you buy your GWS 2025 motors?
Thanks.
Is this the GWS 2025 you were talking about?

I hate to say that but it's not worth trashing the brushed powerplant and purchase a brushless one to make the Flanker fly in good condition, you end up paying it twice its price.
I cancelled my order and have it replaced by a BAE Hawk.

My Feedback: (15)

you asked for outrunners, those are outrunners.
the motors fit in the stock fan mounts. the rotor adapter collett will have to be replaced or resized to fit the outrunner shaft.
if you want to replace the fan units, wattage, and sf fans will fit easily, but will also need collett resizing. GWS edf 64 fans will fit and they are coming lately with 3 mm colletts which should fit either of the wicked or lsjs shaft.

I need one of the stock rotors (fan) for a BL upgrade. I'm using some motors and controllers I had lying around and I don't want to put much money into this project. While modifying the stock rotors to fit my motor I managed to ruin one of them. If any of you guys have a wrecked SU-27 or have replaced the stock DF's. I would like to have the old rotors. For a reasonable price of course!
Thanks,
Dan
P.S. I'm in the US. HL doesn't have any parts available and the one source I found for replacement parts appears to be in EU.

I'll send you a whole plane and 4 stock ducted fans with motors attached and wires. no servos in the plane anymore or RX or speed controls but i have a su-27 that still has the ducted fan motors in it and most the parts from a guttted one. I might have to cut the wings off the complete one to get it in a box but its pretty badly damageds in the front anyway of course removing the wing i would cut them were they originally mount to the fuse so they may be useable again.
All of it for 60 bucks i will take the shipping charges out of the 60..
PM me if intrested..

Been out of town a couple weeks, but I wanted to thank you for the reply and the offer. $60 is more than I have in the whole project so far. (The motors and controllers are from other planes and weren't being used at the time) I ended up ording some GWS replacement parts. I will see if I can get those to work. Again, Thanks!

Hi,
Just ordered a artech su27 russian knight. This will be my first ducted fan,i fly 3 eflite electric planes and was wondering if the speed is around the same at full throttle as my eflite mini funtana with a 480 in it.Or is the su 27 faster at full throttle.I have heard that the speed is moderate for a ducted fan.
Also i fly on a grass field and i have to hand launch the su27.has anyone ever have did this?..My field has nothing but grass to take off from,
Thanks for all the help,
Danny

You wont want to hand launch it. I bought two they never flew underpowered with brushed motors. upgrade to brush less if possible. Need alot of ground speed to get them off the ground... here is what happened to mine and this is what i get for not getting a trainer first..

I am currently looking for the Brushed SU-27
Are there any stores that still has it?
I think BariqAtlantic has it, but the site is unavailable at the moment, so I dont know if they will still have it.

Heres my Art Tech SU27 on 4s lipo - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRqtj...eature=related . You have to replace all the electric components to run this on 4s. Lipo, ESC, motors, also the stock RX will get serious interference from the higher voltage. Mine runs on GWS 64 fans, GWS 3900kv "green" motors, 35amp ESC's, and a 2250 25C 4S battery. The stock brushless setup will fly it but its definately underpowered, at least for me it is. No way it will take off safely on grass as stock.
