Default WANTED: Quality balsa & Light ply constructed ducted fan jet

I am looking for options. I really do not want a foam jet. I need one that can take off and land on a grass feild. Six channel model with functional flaps required, retracts would be nice but not neccisary as retracts don't like grass. It does not need to be RTF but ARF is prefered. $300 to $500 price range including motor(s), ESC(s) and ducted fan unit(s). This would be my first Jet that was not a "prop Jet". I like military scale/sport scale (F-86 to F-22) and Sport (Kee Kats etc.) Please include a link with any sudjestions. Thank you in advance as I do not have any idea where to begin shopping

Electric Jet Factory has a wide assortment, broken down by fan size and then single or twin edf:

[link]http://warbirds-rc.com[/link] has a good selection as well.

Your expectations are extreamly unrealistic.

skyhawk is most right, for $500 you will find it hard to get all that. Hehehehee ... anyways for a 1st jet that is nice etc etc etc ... I will go with the EJF Sport Jet, the 70mm is nice to fly and I am sure the 90 is even better. There are some minor issues with the plane when you build it but like I said very minor and its not hard to sort out for any semi experienced hobbyist. Just read the manual very carefully and do some dry fitting before you commit.

Foamies are cheap and they do fly well, especially the FlyFly ones, you can see them at EJF. I got the Hawk for my pal and he loves it, he also flies a 120mm EDF Hawk and says the FlyFly Hawk is very nice to fly. They have a F86 too, mine will be with me by next week.

ORIGINAL: skyhawknut

That is what I needed to know... An EDF Jet would be nice to add to my collection but if what I'm wanting just is not made then I guess I'm on to the 33% gassers instead. However, It seems many of the Jets on EJF.com are in that price range but many of them do not say what they are made of which instantly stinks of foam.

Some of those are not foam - but you won't get the motor, fan, esc with it for the price you want to spend, and the ones that are - almost always need upgrades.
