Default EDF questions

Hi,

I was wanting to get into EDF jets, and was thinking of buying a yellow aircrafts F-16c. Does anyone have one converted to EDF? Any opinions as to whether this would be a good jet for converting?

As this was a ducted fan kit, would the inlet of the DF be good for EDF, I am assuming both have the same needs.

Can I have some good suggestions as to the fan/battery setup that would be good for this airframe. Thanks.

Tim

You should ask this question over on RCGroups.com in the electric jet forum. Lots more electric fliers over there.

Thanks Mike. I was thinking of doing a build here if the project goes ahead.

Another question. Has anyone tried to convert a ramtec fan to electric? Those fans were great in the day, and was thinking that maybe they might be good if I hook up an electric motor to it. It may be too heavy though (EDF fans don't look as sturdy/heavy as a ramtec fan - but I am just going by pictures to make that call).

If this were my project I wouldn't mess with the Ramtec fan. Go with a proven fan that's been designed for E-power, save your self headaches down the road.

Hi Larry,

Yes I was planning on going the proven route, I was just wondering so I thought I would post the question.
