Default A-10 Warthog

Just saw the A-10 West team perform at the Wings Over Wine Country airshow today and was blown away by its capabilities and was just woundering if there was an ARF rc version of this bad @$$ tank buster.
Ive seen the one that nitroplanes puts out and herd to many bad things about it.

Hobby Lobby has a VERY nice scale electric A10. Also try Electric Jet Factory.

The problem is that there all either to small or too big. I had a GWS a few years back and hated it. I'm working on a 55 to 70 inch EDF right now. Were in the CAD mode on it right now and I'm hoping to get to the build shortly. Once I'm there I'll post the build here and RC Groups due to there more a electric crowd. I'll keep you posted.

HET just came out with an A-10 warthog, the manual was done by FanJetsUsa, I had the oportunity to fly the prototype during the manual construction phase while I was visiting my brother, very cool plane, twin 70mm fans. Right now it is availible in a gray version, easy to repaint if you want, we are talking to HET about a tan desert version coming out. Check it out at fanjetsusa.com

I bought a Gl603-1 A10 from Nitroplanes, what I would like to do, is to remove the fans to balance them. How do I remove the fans? I've taken out the small screw at the front of the fan, and have tried to pull them off with my fingers, and have tried a small screw driver, but am afriad I'll break a blade.. Question, how do I remove the fans?, the plane is already put together.. Help

You are falling into a common mistake about fan blades.

You will MOST LIKELY BEND & ruin the fan blade by trying or actually pulling it off. What do you have to then spin it up to FULL SPEED? What do you have that will press into the center hole all the way?? Prop balancers are NOT good for EDF work.

How are you going to accurately FORCE the blade back on?

It is a hopeless job at best. .........Lots of dumb luck is required.

A TINY piece of Scotch Tape CAREFULLY put on & off each blade then run up to about the same RPM is the only safe way to find the possible unbalanced blade.
DO NOT be suprised if you can NOT improve the balance. WORSE vibration on every blade says it is O K. ..............Stop trying to improve what you can not.

Give Chris a call, he has a very nice medium sized A-10 that he makes himself here in CA.
