all you need to do is put the battery in the space under the canopy and the cg comes out about right. mine was a bit nose heavy (needs a handful of elevator in turns to stop the nose from dropping). if you can, use servo extension leads to put the receiver right up front, and move the battery as far back as you can.
keep a touch of power on for landings, otherwise she bounces all over the place as soon as the main wheels touch the deck.
not a very fast plane, but it's a phantom, and I love phantoms.
Keep the aileron throws to a minimum and use expo to smoothen out the flights.
enjoy it.

I remember mine, she does fly decently, slightly under powered for me as its hot and humid here. Yeah the bouncing part will really test your landing skills! Hahahahaa ... grease it and she is lovely, if not, wait for your mates to laugh out loud. Tucked in 3S 2,200 packs and she was slightly nose heavy.

By the way, for your own sake do NOT use the li-po that comes with the model for more than 2 or 3 flights. bin it immediately. it's useless. I used mine in a t-rex 450 for a couple of short flights and it would drop the voltage badly after just 20 seconds. On a subsequent flight in the phantom it lost power on take-off. result - stalled and snapped about 15 feet off the ground - one badly smashed nose.

Iwas actually considering cutting the phantom up to remove the edf unit and put a more powerful one in, but it's just not worth it. I want a bigger one.
