RETRACTS FOR SMALL JETS

IS THERE ANY RETRACTS OTHER THAN THE ONES BY GWS THAT CAN BE USED FOR EDF JETS OR HOW DO YOU MAKE YOUR OWN. THE REASON I AM ASKING IS THE GWS LOOK TO CHEAP TO ME, MAYBE THEY ARE OK IF YOU HAVE THEM LET ME KNOW.

Try either www.retracts.com or www.robart.com/Gear_Finder.aspx . I'm sure there are others out there.

The blue GWS retracts work well on small models, depending on weight. The blue ones are good for 1.5 lbs on pavement. You have to fabricate a nose wheel, but that is not too hard to do. Cheap is good, if you dork a landing the gear will break before tearing out of a wing.

RE: RETRACTS FOR SMALL JETS

I have used hitec hs55's, hs50's, and the latest was a cirrus 4.7gm servo (real tiny). The mains were both on one servo, and the nose was on a separate servo (two servos for 3 retracts). I have no exp with planes heavier than 1.5 lbs so can not comment on retracts to use. here is a thread which show the retracts install, go to about the 60th post
