Hi all,
I have a Fantom Phase3 and am looking to maiden it this weekend (weather permitting). Throws, CG etc etc are all good, but I have a control surface alignment question that the book is unclear on. When doing the usual centering of trims and servo, control surfaces, I notice the elevons that are slightly scooped as opposed to being straight. Usually, I either sit a ruler on top if it was straight, or just look at the cross section on curvered surfaces. But this is a bit different. Where do I align it to.. The portion of the tail that is inboard to the elevons that are straight (where I currently have them), or use trailing edge of the back of the elevon compared to the cross section? I'm leaning to the former.. But it appears to be up just a tad when aligned in this manner. Hate to see the bird shoot up like a rocket on launch then have to scramble to save it.. Any help appreciated.. Thanks in advance. Tom |
