Where to start?

Hey all I am looking into getting a fun jet some time in the future.

I do not want to spend to much, I do not need it to go 120+ MPH

The kit is like $72.00 from Tower Hobbies

The Multiplex Power Pack for the FunJet from Tower is $140.00

Great Planes LiPo 3S 11.1V 2100mAh 18C Discharge for 75.00 (can batteries be gotten some where else cheaper?)

Connectors like 4.00

Radio from Tower is like 55.00

2 servo's about 36.00

extension cable 5.50

A charger for the batteries.

Am I missing anything? Could I get better prices somewhere else?

Any help would be great! Links would be helpful also! :)

Thanks
George

Here http://www.hobby-lobby.com/electric_...rce=ql&kw=jets

They will at least match tower's prices and ask them about their 120mph Fun Jet!

Be careful what brand of battery you select. They are NOT all created equal.

You can buy a Thunder Power brand 3 cell 2100 at Hobby Lobby for less than $60!

RE: Where to start?

I am souly running both Zippy H's and R's as well as Rhino's in all of my electrics. I have a 30% Edge 540 that I am using two Zippy R's and H's 5S 5000 in, and two EDF's that I am running the Rhino 3700 Mah 4S's in. I will not spend my money on the Higher dollar packs, when I have bought them before and have had little or no luck with them staying balanced. I have been buying souly from Unitedhobbies for three seasons now, and have had not one bad pack come my way. I keep Excell spreadsheets on all my packs, and mah drain, and cycles are excellent on the Unitedhobby packs. I just ran downstairs to count my packs and I have 23 Batteries in my battery storage area, 21 of them are from United hobbies.

Hope this helps !!!!!

If budget is an issue then go with Hobby City. The Rhinos are great and you can read the user reviews at HC. The Turnigy ESCs work great esp the 60A ones with the buit in UBEC. Also the motors are fine, I used them in a FJ before. Running on 4S and 6S. HC is the place to shop.
