MiG Combat Air Patrol (MiG-CAP)
 

This extended report of combat sorties in our battle for the Republic began on the "Park flyers and Back yard flyers" thread; this, due toa harried communications misdirection while Flight Lieutenant Sakai was under fire.
Barring intense fire situations where communications are compromised reports should appear herein, per incident in the Theatre.

"Faithfully submitted by Douglas C. Neidermeyer" (relegated to communications due to insubordination and idiocy-hence the communication fiascos from time to time).

4 July, 2010: Sakai jumped a lone Chinese MiG-15 emblazoned with the funny,new insignia that are a variation of the Pepsi-swirley logoonits fuselage and wings (these swirley logos are commonly seen on bumper stickers upon Toyota's Prius and other hybrid car types in particular). The sudden presence of Sakai and his wingman in theirF-15s aparrently so shocked the MiG pilot that he simply dove into the ground. It was a "foamie" MiG andstyrofoam blasted into the air some ten feet, narrowly missing Sakai's plane as he followed the MiG down. The MiG pilot did not bail out and did not survive the crash. This downed MiG is being considered by Fighter Command as a 1/2 "kill" for Sakai and his wingman, as no ordnance was exchanged.......pending review.

Note to personnel:
Communications Specialist Douglas C. Neidermeyer has been sacked and is awaiting Courts Martial. Lieutenant Sakai found both paper and internet documentation proving Neidermeyer is an authentic, card-carrying communist[:@] who was feeding vital MiG-CAP information to the Iranian and Syrian Air Forces.
     "He was a disgrace to the skilled people in Communications and his blight upon them has been removed," Sakai's commander, Colonel Curtiss LeMay, said to a cub "Air Force" magazine reporter. LeMay has recommended another commendation for Sakai.

Requesting the restoration of the vaunted American Volunteer Group (AVG) until the Government declares war against the enemy, which is the usual fascist suspects and....well....also, sort of itself[:@], our government, so.....Hmm...,.

We REALLY need the ol' AVG to regroup withflyers old and new and take it to this nefarious enemy that festers both far and in our very midst!

Pilot Protocol:
Talk with General Chenault (a formality). He gives the green light to most anyone who can fly a Cessna, and writes up the standard commission on the spot!

Fighter Command Update:
Communications Specialist Neidermeyer was convicted of treasontoday for selling technical ordnance data to the Syrian and Iranian Air Forces. In observation of the new administration's muslim outreach program, rather than the standard life imprisonment in Fort Leavonworth the convicted [:@]communist[:@]Neidermeyer will instead be stoned to death.

Flight Lieutenant Sakai, up for commendation for his detective work was, as reported in "Backyard/ParkFlyers", shot down by triple AAA over the middle east while on CAP. Succeeding in bailing out cleanly, Sakai was last seen driftingunder his chute "over Iranian airspace".

A concrete basement room with shoddy ventillation at an Iranian airfield:
 
"....You WILL tell us everything," the Iranian Intelligence interrogator said[X(].
"I will tell you that yes, you are very ugly in a physical way and your leader is a whackjob and your secret lover whom you lay with on weekends at his Eagle's Nest of Debauchery in the hills," Sakai answered.
     The interrogator leaped up out of his wooden chair to strike Sakai[:@], but missed and Sakai, loosed from his handcuffs, grabbed the Iranian's hand at the wrist in mid-air, twisted it, stood up and  easily put the Iranian, stunned into silence, in a headlock.
They were out the door silently and into the elevator. On the ground floor now, Sakai looked out the elevator door and on out  through the glass door of the airfield's main office and saw, out there on the tarmac, a glistening MiG-29.......

Sortie Update, 2nd September, 2010:

Major Richard "Dick" Bong flying MiG Cap over Iraqi airspace with his wingman Major Boyington added a MiG-17 Fresco to his tally on 2 September 2010. The MiG was downed with the 20 mm cannon of the Major's F-15 and there is excellent gun camera footage of the MiG exploding under the barraige of cannon shells. The Iranian pilot ejected safely and drifted down into Iraqi and American hands.

###EARLIER THAT SAME DAY###
Bright and early In the morning General Adolf Galland of the Luftwaffe sought to join in the fight against the new tyranny we face in the Republic. He's under review right now and Sakai, suspicious of the German, has lodged a quiet protest with the Wing Leader, Colonel Curtiss LeMay.
"But you'reformer Japanese Imperial Navy, Sakai, you dolt!" Colonel LeMay said to a stunned Sakai, who has long proven his loyalty to the Republic with multiple MiG kills and much blood, sweat and NO tears.
"True, Colonel, but there is something about Galland I'm just not sure of. And he's only checked out in the Me 262."
"Okay, Sakai. I can't think of a better way to keep an eye on him than....."
"No, Colonel!"
"That's right, Sakai! You've got yourself a new wingman!"
"Damn," Sakai said, and slammed the Colonel's office door on his way out to the tarmac. Now he had to train aGerman-only speaking Luftwaffe pilot from the last century how to fly a bloody F-22. But then again, Sakai himself was a mere Mitsubishi Zero pilot from the last century who spoke only half-baked pidgeon English, and here HE was, flying bloody space shuttles and things against the Fascists....who knows? Maybe Galland would work into the groovejust fine...
As he opened the door to the tarmac Sakai saw Galland leaning against his personal F-15C, drinking from a bottle of Jaegermeister schnapps and talking up a young blonde female flight Sergeant-Sakai's young blonde female flight Sergeant.
"Buddha help us," Sakai said, shaking his head.

"Step away from my bird, and my girl, you schnapps-swillingold timer," Sakai said to the gallant new flight trainee Galland.
"Entschuldigung-excuse me, sorry, Lieutenant Sakai, I was just excited to get back into action." Galland said, his eyes darting this was and that in abject fear of the Bushido Warrior Sakai.
"Yes, Galland. A new, but old enemy for you-fascists[:@]. You should know first hand the viciousness of our foe in the Republic."
"I apologize for drinking before flying and hitting on your woman," he said, indicating Francesca, the fetching Tech Sergeant who kept Sakai's various aircraft airworthy. She rolled her eyes at Galland for Sakai's approval.
"Franny, dear, ready that other F-15C for Galland, here, and get Consuella to brew up a huge pot of coffee for our wayward Nazi here," Sakai said, taking Galland's elbow and leading him to the mess.
"Hey, I said I was sorry, but what's going on here?"Galland said.
"We're going up in three hours on MiG CAP over Iranian-slash that-"Iraqi" airspace. I'm putting you through your paces on the newer birds, here, as things are different since you were galavanting about the skies of your utterly bashed Fatherland in your slick little Messerschmitt 262 before the Americans took your birds and had a little talk with you,"
"So we're going up?" a startled Galland beamed, "but that would mean that...."
"Right: you're my wingman for the time being."
"Ausgezeichnicht-excuse me, I meant, 'awesome!' "
"But first, there's the firehose to....sober you up a bit[X(]. It's also tradition. Then we'll fit you with your new flightgear. And work on your bloody English. This is the American Remotely Piloted Air Force (ARPAF), for Buddha's sake."

Entertaining, but worthless chatter, save it for your blog page or something. The heck with Israel and all politics, this space is for RC JETS, not imaginary sorties that insult those who flew real missions. I find it insulting. To me and my grandparents. If you must rewrite history or find a place to air your views, then kindly find it elsewhere. This place is for radio control jets, not pro this that or the other thing, but our shared hobby of radio control aircraft(jets in particular). No harm or insult intended, I might enjoy your musing elsewhere, but not on here where I try to get away from world political mess that permeates my life. Sorry if I offend, but I to wish to not be offended by politics.

Point taken. You might want to reconsider your "to heck with Israel" comment, though.People and nations with that sentiment do not end well. Just a heads-up for you on that.
