Select Motor for a Carl Goldberg Tiger 2 Kit build
Hi folks,
I need some help with picking motor/ESC/battery for a 80% done kit build Tiger 2 (a low wing trainer, weighs about 5lb)
I have zero experience with electric motors, after read articles like this one
http://www.flyrc.com/glow-to-electri...n-tips-part-i/ and a couple of forum posts on converting glow powered Tiger 2, I have narrowed my range of motors to following:
max watt: 1200-1400w
max current: 30-45A
Kv: 500-800
however it seems to be difficult to find a motor that
1) fit the specs above
2) in stock
3) ~ $60.
The closest thing I can find is
Turnigy Aerodrive SK3 - 4250-410kv Brushless Outrunner Motor ($37)
But it's kv value seems to be low (410kv)
Would this actually work? I will do some basic aerobatics but nothing too crazy. Longer fly time would be nice.
The article above also mentioned a couple of motors but they are all pretty expensive, the least expensive one is
Cheetah A4120-7 Brushless Outrunner Motor ($64)
How does this compare to Turnigy one?
Thank you!
