I read your post and see, you didn't have to "bump". Congrats on your successful flight. If you want to save a bunch of money and time on repairing/building planes, you should invest in a flight simulator program. I use Real Flight G2 Lite. This, of course assumes you have a PC. If you don't, try and find a flying buddy who will allow you to use his simulator.

To answer your question, yes, you can learn to fly on your own. With enough patience and money! I once had a buddy who knew nothing about flying a helicopter but he bought a small 30 size machine and just had at it. He's actually pretty darn good now.

Good Luck,
Paul C.

Lets say you start a new post and nobody responds for a while. As other new posts are started yours moves down the list and eventually to the second then third, etc. page. What some people will do is go to their post and simply type in "TTT" meaning "To The Top". When this is done your post moves or is "bumped" to the first page. This makes it more likely your post will be seen. Get it. Some forums don't like you doing this and in extreme cases you can be removed from the forum. It's not considered good forum etiquette.
Anyway, have a great flight.
