Default 12 pole motor / 10 pole ESC

Hi,
I've installed an Align ESC that came with a Heli on to a new plane. The ESC is compatible with the plane's Park 480 motor except for something I just noticed: The ESC specs say that the ESC is "for 2 ~ 10 pole motors". The Park 480 is a 12 pole motor. I've set the proper timing option on the ESC for "motors with 6 poles or more" and I've ground tested the motor with the ESC a little with no apparent issues. It seems to run fine.

Can it be a problem to use a "12 pole motor" with an ESC rated "for 2 ~ 10 pole motors"??

Thanks

Default RE: 12 pole motor / 10 pole ESC

Only a problem if you are running extremely high rpm - then the ESC might not be able to "keep up".
