Zero Experience but Interested in building my own...
Hi all,
Iam new to Rc Flying and Interested about RC Electric Planes. I am a person who wants to build his own rather than buy something off the shelf so how can i learn about the materials used, mechanical standards, specs etc.. to build my own planes? How do i calcualate e.g what size/power motor to use with how much battery power or servos etc...
Where do I Start? and What path do need to take.

EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT ELECTRIC FLIGHT
This is about power systems, how to pick them and what the pieces are.

As for designing your own, well for that you will want to cruise over to the builder forums.

Yeah, the builder secction has some good info. For simple planes, the pink foam insullation board works great. Depending on the size of the plane you want, use different thicknesses to build a simple box fuselage. For up to around 50 inch wingspan models, I use fanfold pink foam, it's a 1/4 inch thick and makes for very lightweight building. For bigger models, I use 1/2 inch 4x8 sheets and simply cut a fuselage shape making a left and right side, then cut out whatever shape/size you need for top and bottom pieces, hatches...Cheap and works great. Good luck to ya!
