what a blast
flew my first electric yesterday-I have been flying glow and gas for several years and I was given a arc by cermark "PLAYBOY" . I covered in ultracoat light and powered with a 15/4 phasor brushless and jetti 40 esc-"WHAT A BLAST"-I had so much fun yesterday that I flew it again this evening-The airplane is so quiet and relaxing and also CLEAN-I always thought electrics were for the people ...............well you know the attitude I am talking about-this is so much fun-to be able to fly 1/4 mile from the house-with just a transmitter and plane and I carried my charger and all the support equipment in a cigar box-I am getting 20 minute flight times on 2600 nimh pack-although the airplane will fly a 1/4 throttle-this engine I think puts out more thrust than alot of 20's I have messed with-the boys at the field yesterday were ribbing me about the electric-I think that saw a aerobird or something once and it didn't fly too well-this plane was flying in 10 mph winds yesterday and had no problem in pentration-I LOVE IT

RE: what a blast
Take it to the field next time you go glow flying. It does wonders for the attitudes of the naysayers when a well-respected (dunno about your club but in mine that's a dubious distinction :)) glow flier brings an electric to the field that does more than just crash.
The Firebird/Aerobird planes fly just fine, BTW. We had an Aerobird Challenger get blown downwind until it was just a dot, and a club instructor flew it all the way back :) |
