top wing vs low wing

Back when I was choosing my first RC plane to train with, my top choices were the Wattage Corsair or Mustang RTF. But the guy at the shop told me low wing planes like those warbirds aren't good for training. With that in mind, I was wondering what makes low wings so much more difficult to fly that a newb can't train with it?

Because the main weight of the airplane is below the wing on a high-wing design, it acts like a pendulum, and tends to stabilize the plane.

Because low wings are designed to be more maneuverable (less stable) and they must be flown both into and out of every maneuver. High wings can be flown by just steering them around with rudder; starting out, you want to keep the complexity to a minimum. The airplane should be capable of flying itself with periodic interruptions by the pilot, you....Jim
