Problem with first electric
I just put together a Wattage Crazy Max. I installed the servo for each aileron. So I have four servos. I am using a wattage 30 amp ESC, a JR r700 reciever (hade it laying around), a wattage 800 ma nimh battery. My radio is a JR 783 on channel 15. I hook it all up per instructions, and the esc diode blinks, but I get nothing. It fired up once last night, but tonight it won't do anything! I don't believe anything is shorted out, because I hooked the reciever up to another plane and it workrd, and I traded esc's today thinking maybe the first one was bad. I am bummed I was gona fly it tomorrow. Anyone have any suggestions? This my first venture into electric, and man I don't have a clue! Help!

Problem with first electric
I haven't used any Wattage ESCs, but my Great Planes ESCs requires one to take the throttle to HIGH and hold for a moment until one hears 2 clicks (prop twitches slightly too) and then back to LOW for another moment - then it's armed and works just fine.
Check if your ESC has an arming mechanism. If it does, then check the throttle trim to make sure the HIGH/LOW signals get transmitted. |
Problem with first electric
If I remember you need to turn on the Tx then the Rx and wait for 30 seconds before the ESC will arm and send power to the motor.
It got me after I was using a Dymond ESC that you would move the stick to half throttle and it would beep. Dru. |

Problem with first electric
Hey thanks for the replys. Unfortunately I found out the hard way what was wrong. The receiver has a glitch, even though I tried it in another plane. I never flew it in the other plane just tested it. I finally had everything working, and had the Crazy max flying. I made a couple of circuits of the area, then tried a few rolls. It rolled well. Then I tried a snap, and lost control . When it stalled it headed straight down, and I had no control. Styro kinda disintegrates at thirty MPH. I already have the receiver in route to the manufacturer. They can ring it out and hopefully replace it. Thanks so much for the reply.
Oh buy the way, I plan to re-kit the Crazy Max! |
