P-51 for Beginner??

Hobby-lobby is selling P-51 warbird, says it is for anyone. Experts/Intermediate fliers, please comment before I make mistake in buying this for aileron training.

RE: P-51 for Beginner??

I generally would not recommend a warbird as a trainer. I would get something more like an E-Starter.

I believe you meant to say you would NOT recommend a warbird as a trainer.

Warbirds fly fast and are not forgiving, so they are generally a poor choice for a beginner. Your recommendation of the E-Starter is a good one.

NO!!! the e-starter is an aileron trainer hence why it is marketed as a 4 channel trainer, horizon market the warbirds as intermediate planes to convince excited newbies into wasting their money, in reality the P51 especially is as far from a trainer as you can get, the spit is supposed to be easier but I would still get a high wing trainer instead.

YES...I would agree, A p51 is not a good plane to learn on, it has a nasty tip stall characteristic and is not for beginners in any form unless it has a non-p51 wing hehehehe. look for a high wing trainer.
