Chargers?

Ok I have put off electric flight for long enough!:)
I have no clue about all these different types of batteries and chargers. I have an unused car battery would that be suitable to fast charge batteries for electric flight? Can anyone reccomend a good fast charger for someone on a budget:P? Any help would be great thanks!!

As far as charging goes, you can use the car battery to charge the Lipo batteries if the Lipo charger has a 12 volt input.
You can also use a car charger to keep your car battery up, but I wouldn't have both the car charger and the Lipo charger connected at the same time.

Umm, just a few battery tips:

1. Lithium batteries require special care, unlike Nicd/Nimh.
2. A lot of chargers you can get for around 30 bucks, but they usually only handle either lithium, or Nicd/Nimh.
3. If the charger has aligator clips, then it can be plugged into any 12v power source, whether you car battery, or a plug in power supply.

This is the charger that I have been using for the past two years. It handles LiPo, MiMh and NiCd and can be used on house current or a car's battery.
