J-3 CUB FROM FLYZONE OR PARKZONE?
I would like some comments from anyone about the cub that these 2
companies are offering in RTF form. Both seem like pretty good trai- ners. I dont care for the tail skid in the Parkzone version - can a tail wheel be added? I notice that the Flyzone version has ailerons, the other one does not. Any comments on these planes? me 02 |
RE: J-3 CUB FROM FLYZONE OR PARKZONE?
Both are nice intermediate level planes. Neither is good for a beginner. If you are at the beginner level, get a SuperCub.
If you are at the intermediate level, these are decent planes to get. The PZ is a very popular model and the brushless motor corrects one of the biggest problems of the original - being underpowered. However, the plane still does terrible groundcircles when you attempt to take off, so you need to add a tail wheel and increase the size of the wheels to 2". Addign expanding foam to the inside of the fuselage is still an important means of reducing damage in the even of a "rough" landing. The FlyZone plane is nice, but is extremely underpowered. You definitely need to unpgrade it to brushless/LiPo to make it a decent flyer. The Flyzone electronics aren't too good either and should be swapped out. |
