Arming motor using transmitter
 

A while back there was an article about how to program your transmitter to arm/safety the motor.
Does anyone still have that instruction. I haven't figured out how to do it.
The magazine (R/C Report) has been tossed and I didn't keep the article since I wasn't in to electrics at that time.

what kind of esc is it ? most that i have you simply plug the battery in and once it beeps move the throttle to full wait for a beep then back to idle and mine beep 4 times letting me know its armed.

My ESCs arm when the throttle is full off. If the throttle is at WOT then the ESC goes into program mode.

Thanks for the answers guys.
I didn't explain what I was looking for clearly enough.

My ESC will arm okay, but the programming I was wanting info about is a safety thing whereby you cannot run the motor
until flipping a switch on the transmitter.

The article was about the programming of the transmitter. It was in R/C REPORT.

You can program/activate a throttle cut on you transmitter. The idea is to flip a switch and force the throttle channel "off", regardless of the throttle stick position. Many transmitters have this function built in, with others, you may need to program a mix for it. You want it on a regular switch, not a momentary switch, so you can flip it off and leave it off until you are ready to power up the motor. You still need to power up your TX first, to be sure it's transmitting a "throttle off" signal. If you power up the RX with the TX off, all bets are off, unless you have a "throttle off" failsafe programmed into the RX.

Mike, what transmitter do you have?

I have an Optic 6 and it has a "Throttle Cut" momentary push button switch on top which is only temporary, but there's a "Lock" button down next to the display which will lock the throttle where it is at the time the button is pushed (which I do with the throttle all the way off). This prevents the motor from running until I push it again.

I have a Spektrum DX-7
I seem to remember something about the mix was throttle to throttle, 0% but maybe not (senior mement)
Wish I still had that article.....................
