Perfect plane for the beginner!!!! This is it!
 

My first plane was a 55" Sky Trainerfrom Nitroplanes......
This plane was cheap and big so I figured I would try it. I was so nervous on the first launch I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. Once I got up in the air it seemed really fast and the controls were quick moving so it was jerky (I'm sure that was more than 50% me being a new RC pilot). All in all it was a decent plane to fly and would land very slowly which was nice. It's life ended one morning while flying, the wing strut bar pulled out of the fuselage and the plane folded and nosed into the ground. For $139 I guess you can't expect perfection...

My Second plane was a Cessna 182 from Parkflyers......
Out of the box, This plane had a bad servo. It would click and grind no matter where it was in its travel. It would also creep on its own and move about 3/8". Also, this planes motor would rev up n down and bobble around, at half throttle it sounded like it had a "miss" like a real motor and if you went to full throttle it would take about 5-10 seconds for it to reach max rpm, sputtering all the way. The company is suppose to send me a new ESC but after two weeks have not recieved it. I decided to install the motor from my first crashed plane in it and go fly. It just didn't fly right. The motor has tons of power but it seems like the servo's have a mind of their own at times. It's really difficult to fly and I ended up softly flopping into tall grass. This one is getting sold!

My Third and Final Plane is an E-Flight Apprentice 15e......
I already had the Tx and Rx so I got it cheaper than the link price.
I thought I wouldn't like this because it has rubberbands on the wings. WAS I WRONG! The rubber bands make it very easy to transport instead of screws like the others.
The first time I flew it, the plane soared into the sky and climbed to about 100 feet where I pulled back to half throttle. I flew it around and buzzed the runway about 10 feet off the deck. The motor sounds really smooth and has tons of power. I approached for my landing and smoothly set it down. This plane flew perfectly! On the next flight I was flying inverted holding a steady path and loving every minute of it. With the other planes, I never felt "in control" but with this one, I give an input and it does what I ask, perfectly.
This is a GREAT plane for a new beginner! It's easy to fly andbuilds your confidence.

Never say "Final Plane", it's like saying "one last flight" :)

I like the ezhawk also from Nitroplanes for beginners. It also makes a cool and cheap night flyer. I belly land mine at a field where I do weekend trips in the summer.http://bit.ly/b2CNEy

I just flew mine today with strong wind gusts... Awesome plane and I landed it right to my feet straight down like a Harrier with no throttle at all.....It glides in the wind!!
I nosed it in the ground flying upside down 2 feet off the runway a few weeks agoso I tossed in a motor I had laying around, I think it flies better now!

It's not inexpensive but this is a really good starter plane that will handle a lot of twists and turns.
I was told today that the wings have NACA airfoils.... Something that helps me basically float at 1 mph and not stall.

I am now teaching my younger kids with the same HobbyZone Cub I taught my older son on over 4 years ago. Very durable forgiving plane.

im thinking just about any docile high wing will be more stable than my extra-im thinkin HARD about the PZ stinson-can add flaps and flaperons witht the right Rx-and a BIG wingspan

The Hobbyzone Mini Super Cub......Even a blind monkey can fly it!:D

I have taught many to fly on this plane. Easy to fly, yet can still fly agressive. I have been flying since '92 & I get mine into inverted flight, loops snaps, ect. Super plane for 99.00 RTF! You can even fit 600 ma batts in for twice the flight time.

I can understand that it is a nice plane... but it comes with nothing except a foam airframe for $120... if you have all the other equipment, you might as well get a SIG Senorita kit for $50 and save $70!

Or better still build a plane from scratch from a plan and save $110.

IF … you’d enjoy the challenge and satisfaction of building a balsa and plywood kit (intended for glow power) then consider a SIG Senorita kit for reduced price of $50 while there still available . There’s still a few tru diehards that recommend this as a beginning trainer. However, like tmackel and many others the 3-channel SuperCub RTF foamy seems to be the most popular beginner plane.

Here’s a couple sites for more info on the SIG Seniorita kit that's Dr. Kiwi’s advice for saving $70 (Fun Cub kit) or $130 (SuperCub RTF). He may have another site where it's available for only $50.

Anyone around have <font size="5" color="#000000">Flyzone Switch EP ?

<font size="4">Im looking at this one today, its a bit pricey for what I want, but it being convertible to a more Sporting low wing flyer kind of has me thinking it is a better investment. Then I think to myself, this thing will probably have been crashed so many times that it would never even see the conversion before its retired. LOL.

It seems there are alot of good glider based trainers in the $100-125 range like Hawk SKY, and EZ Hawk too.

I will keep researching I think, there are lots of good recommendations on this site.</font></font>

I have yet to check out the Switch, if I was new and didn't have both low and high wing, would be a strong consideration..

Always new entrys to check, no such thing as this is the one, more increadible planes keep coming !

Currently enjoying the Flyzone Corvalis, its a low wing but flys docile, has lights for a bonus if you later extend to Night Flights, which by the way I enjoy now. The handling on this one is superb, it will penetrate 15 MPH winds rather well, and its landings, well, other than a glider nothing comes close other than my much more expensive Eflite T34 as also has flaps. So I give the Corvalis max stars out of the box zero issues and flys like a dream. Tho far from indestructable has a much better reinforced landing gear and the back wheels metal bands, nothing flimsy here, hats off to them for a beutifully designed pure fun flyer ! My earlier flights bounced in with no weak landing gear issues here, excellent.

Have flown some of the other flyzone models, again not the switch, but must say the Corvalis is a top entry, its one of their best flyers by a long shot, blew me away, its that great ...flown near 3 months now and extended Night Flying, increadible...
