Default E flight platinum super cub 25e satio conversion

Well my last G flight cub got ran over by a giant corsair last year so I decided to upgrade to the super cub with a satio 40, all in all it's pretty straight forward. I had to cut some of the firewall off double up the engine box on the inside, and build a firewall out of 3/16 ply. I wanted to hide the motor on it's side but the cowl is a little to small for that so it had to hang inverted.

Thanks, I'm not much of a builder but these little planes have got me addicted to little 4 stroke motors, I had a e flight cub last year with a magnum 30 on it that flew so nice I had to have another but the landing gear on this plane is what made me have to have it. I need to find a home for the little 30 though I think another cub is in the future.

Heres the cowl cut, More than I wanted but it had to happen.

No problem on cutting the cowl as it's on the underside anyway. I actually think it looks good having the rocker boxes hanging out the bottom.  Nice conversion.

Well I got her done! I attached the cowl with two 440 bolts that run through the cowls back plate and then through the firewall into blind nuts. The battery is a 6 cell 1500mah NIMH that sits where the lipo battery would go and is run to the receiver that is right behind the rear seat, I need to clean up the wiring a little bit but It flys great. flaps are not needed although they look great on landing. The satio 40 has pleanty of power for scale flying, it will do a loop and everything i want to be able to do but it's not overpowered.

Got some video of the cub, grass was super tall and I didn't have my big bush tires yet so we mowed a small strip out that was easy to hit but hard to keep in a straight line. Had to force it off a couple times, nothing a little down elevator and throttle won't fix though. What do you think? I love it! Oh and the first cub in the video is what I call rubbing it in guy comes by does a touch and go to say hey look I'm in the real thing and leaves!

Really nice conversion. I also like the rocker boxes sticking out the bottom.
