Thats a good engine for a 14 to 18lbs A/C with almost all you need to set it up... I think its better if you buy a 4 stroke engine even a Gemini 160 or any Saito engine you want !! better than spend all that on a good electric setup.

Before you spring for the high dollar name brand stuff check out Hobby King. www.hobbyking.com
You'll be able to equip your bird for about 1/3 the price of name brand or even less.;)

I have 60 to 120 and larger, VQ/Hangar9/NitroPlanes/etc. Even have one bird with a 9 1/2 Foot w/s. ALL ELECTRIC, and have had great luck with HK's stuff.

For example an AXI Gold 4120-18 from Hobby Lobby is on sale for $131.24
Motor from HK, Turnigy 50-55A, a 4120-18 clone is $29.99

Similar motor to the Hacker recommended previously anywhere from $60 to $120 from HK, I used the $60 versions on my VQ.

Packs, again the previous at $440.00, HK has em for $49.48 each or less then a C note for both.

I had roughly $1500.00 for motors/esc's/packs in my NitroPlanes 90" P-38, going name brand. AXI motors, Castle esc's, and Hyperon packs.
In my VQ 83" P-38 less then $500 going the Hobby King route, going Turnigy motors/esc's, and Zippy packs.

Thing too with the HK stuff, if something goes south, which call me lucky if you will but hasn't happened, you can buy 3 or 4 of an item for the price of a name brand.

Not to act like a HK sales person, I'm not, but hate to see someone spend big bucks when they don't have to.;)

hey guys...i have an A4 Skyray...it has a 57" wing that calls 4 a .91 ducted fan engine nd i would like 2 go electric...can any 1 help with any idea's

Go hang out with Al Gore and everything "green". WE burn liquid fuel around here. With real smelly, oily exhaust.[>:]

Like Scale dail said, RCG have both fora, Glow to Electric and Electric to Glow, not RCU, we still like to have real engines on our planes:D

This Forum is for converting electric designed airplanes to be powered by glow or gas engines. the original poster in here like happens a lot misreads the forum and thinks its the other way around. the orginal poster did put in his subject GAS to Electric but this forum is for the other way around.

The other guys in here though there is no need for calling some one stupid and calling them names.


For the Original poster there is an all Electric forum here on RCU. If click o nthe Forums section on the top in the Blue area just under the Rc Universe Globe you will get better answers there.
