That Mac 60cc IS worthwhile!

I got one. It is a Mac 610 saw. The rings appear to be gummed or the got hot and lost their temper. I don't know if the jug is scored yet. It turns over smooth but the compression is low. Does this saw whittle down into a decent conversion engine?

looking it up on acresinternet it looks similar to the Titan 57 that I have (57cc) and it's going to require a fair amount of crankcase cutting to get it to look like an airplane engine... along with the rubber mounted carburetor like the poulan 46 looks like a strong running engine though

Edited, I messed up the link before.

Interesting design. The square bottom half of the cranks case is different. That could be usefull but I can't see it right now.

Anyway, the extra metal does on the crankcase does not scare me....much. I'll have to tear in to it as time permits. Extra metal easily succombs to the milling machine. I can't see how the insde is any bigger than needed so, I just have to cut down the outside to minimum. Kinda of like seeing a beautiful gunstock in a big chunk of wood, another hobby of mine.

It's junk. There is a chip out of the exhaust manifold.

It does look like another would be worth converting. I will hang on to it for a while and see if another jug falls into my junk pile. It would pare down well. The top of the jug needs to be cut off. The bottom of the crankcase needs to be machined. After that aluminum angle stock would make a good beam mount bolted to the side of the case. at that point it woul be very minimalistic. The intake manifold its the more desireable type with a bolt on type. It has two rings. I also like that the con rod is the split type for the crank pin. It is goofie looking as it sits though.

If you have access to a mill this one is probably worth a look.

Yikes! What happened ot the pictures? Scrool through as usual. There are actually several.

with that mount, it would make a great airboat engine... just sayin :)

doesn't look too bad, much less material to cut off than the titan 57 I have

I talked to a guy that did one that I am guessing is the same as what you have. Looked the same with the same cc. He said it was heavy and low on power.
