Light weight G23

This is not a big deal but might be interesting to someone.
Was at our local hobby shop and someone traded a G23 in to them and said they could not keep it running so I got it pretty cheap. The first thing I seen was the high in set at 2 1/2 turns out, Well I started cutting off all the metal needed for the flywheel and magneto. Took a total of one pound off the engine and replaced with 1 oz off electronic's (CH) used the existing coil.
The engine came out 2lb 3oz with everything but muffler and battery. Ran it today and got 8,000 RPM with 16-8 prop. this is a better weight than I see advertised for most gas light weigh engines. just though some of you engine addicts might like to know.

I also have a G23 with CH Ignition on my GP Spacewalker. Very nice running engine. A lot of people knock the Zenoahs for being boat anchors, when in reality, the only reason the other newcomer gassers are lighter is because of their electronic ignition.

Enjoy your G23.
