Green Machine 7700 chainsaw

I just purchased a used Green Machine 7700 chainsaw, but can't seem to find any specs on it over the internet. Can anyone tell me the displacment of this model and if you think it can be converted? I haven't received it yet or I would have measured the displacement and figured it out. Any comments on this saw would be appreciated. Thanks

It's the chain saw the G62 was made from...3.7 cubic inches, 62cc.magnesium alloy crankcase..A converted 7700 weighs about 4 lbs with CD ignition, uses the same cylinder and piston as the early G62..The airplane G62 has a slightly larger crankshaft, different crankcases, different magneto, and a different carb..GREAT engine.....

That's great news. If the engine runs OK it will be more than enough engine for my plane. Right now I'm running a Homelite 30cc weedwacker engine and it goes pretty good. Not unlimited vertical, but still OK. I won't be trying the engine with a CD ignition. Do you know how much it will weigh with the magnito? What prop would you recommend for the engine? Thanks for the information.

In 1996 myself and 2 others bought up 58 of these engines new in the saw box. Still some in town and, and i have advice on how not to cut it and a drilling fixture for a cb mount. They will out run the regular g-62 with noticeable performance. I ran a 22-8 Zinger commonly. Excellent find, and it will be a huge jump. Have some flywheels shaved down ready to go.
