Jobu Chainsaw, any info?
 
Hi
Got me a Jobu Chainsaw that I will try to convert. Jobu is (was) in the electrolux-group. Think they is the same as Jonsred.
The engine is stamped "made in Canada"
Type number SL-361
ASS 5727.78
Ser.no AV68713

Does anyone have any info on what engine, displacement, power etc for this one.

And is it available some conversion-parts...?

My walbro reference material puts Jobu in a class with EMAB, Jonesruds, Partner, Pi oneer, Trail Mfg. Co. Now jonsereds is out of one of the scandanavian countries, Partner from Sweden, Pioneer from Canada and I'm not sure about Trail Mfg. Hope that will help you some. Echo

The Jobu chainsaw was produced in a place kalled Drøbak in Norway, and production started 1948. It was once the biggest chainsawfactory in europe. Sold to Electrolux in 1979.

The Johnsered company is in a place called Jonsered in Sweden. The company started in 1834, and have produced chainsaws since 1954.

Partner, Jonsered and Husqvarna are all part of the Electrolux-group.
Partner is the low-end product sold in warehouses and so on, Jonsered and Husqvarna are mainly sold thru dealers where Husqvarna is the prefered brand by professionals.
At least around here.
And Stihl of course, but they are not in the Electrolux-group.

I have a converted jobu saw it is a little on the heavy side but makes good power.I beleive it is like a 3.7 or in that range it has been about three years or so since I converted it

This is my first try on converting, and i thought i should stick with the magnet on this one just to make it as simple as possible for myself.

When you say it makes good power but is on the heavy side, which type of airplane could I use it in. Is it just for Cub's or can I hope for enough power for a pattern/acrobat style of aircraft.
Or a big warbird :)
A FW190 or a MS 109 would be nice. To much Mustangs around here... :)
