Help for external pulse line
 

Hello Everyone

Well after trying I couldnt find a way to modify diferent intake manifolds to match the intake port of a Toro engine and walbro carb pulse hole

So I will need to do an external pulse line and I need your help with the following questions

1.- Do I need to block with JB weld the original holes in the manifold
2.- Do I need to block the pulse hole in the walbro carb
3.- For the external pulse line I now I need to make a hole and install a nipple in the carb but can I do the other hole in the plastic manifold (Instead of doing it in the engine)

Thanks a lot for your help, I really need to be able to start flying this Toro engine and installing a bigger carb has really been a challenge as the pulse line in the toro is 45 degreees and all Walbro carbs have its pulse hole at 90.

1. No, it will be blocked by your home made gasket
2. No, it will be blocked by your home made gasket

Same answer for both!

3. Remove the side plate from you carb and install a pressure tap in the unused boss. You can make this out of brass tubing or a tap off a junk carburator. Drill the hole small and drive the tube in. See the attached photo for how the factory does it. If you have a similar carb that has a pressure tap side plate just swap them.

Excellent use of an existing carburetor boss on the diaphragm plate!
I've run across quite a few of those recently on engines I pick up at garage sales. The elbows I can get at local mower shops as a repair part. Using a solid gasket makes a better seal from carb to insulator block than trying to hack a few misplaced holes in a home made gasket too. Turning the carb for proper linkage hookup is easier this way as a side benefit.

Thank you both very much for your answers,

I dont have a carb with the pressuter tap on the side plate but for shure on the mower shop and this would be the easiest way to have it running for the weekend
