Who makes a big engine for conversion?

I am looking to start the winter project and am considering Lanier 33% extra. I have seen one fly well on a G-62 and am looking to build a conversion in that class. Who makes a good motor for this project.

An old Green Machine 7600 is the basis for the G62, same cylinder and piston....A converted 7600 weighs about 4 lbs..Green machines no longer make this engine, but the Zenoah Red Max brand is the same.....

I think the Stihl 038 chainsaw makes a nice 62cc conversion. I have three of them. Here is a picture of one of them converted by Ralph at RC Ignitions. It turns a Zinger 22x10 at 7000 rpms. It is in my 25 lb PJ 295 biplane. Dean

Nice looking conversion on the Stihl. Took me a while to figure out all the bellcranks and pushrods up front in the picture are for the choke. Is the muffler originally meant for another engine or was it a custom built?

How much does that conversion wind up costing you?

I'll average $200.00
But once the setup is bought IT can go from motor to motor...if you don't want fly one plane..take out the ignition and put it in another plane go fly...
Same ignition will work on all, just different prop adapters and pickup styles..

The muffler is a JA Peacekeeper for a Zenoah G 62 and I only had to enlarge the holes a little to make it fit the Stihl. The choke linkage is a bit complicated, but works nice and exits the cowl through the cooling hole at the bottom. The ignition is located inside the radial mount, and cannot be moved to other engines like the CH.
Here is a picture of one of my other 038's, but this one I did the conversion myself. It uses the CH Ignition. I have many engines, but only three CH Ignitions that I move from one engine to another. The conversion cost me about $200.00 not counting what I paid for the 038 chainsaw. I was lucky enough to find a couple that had been dropped and broken. Used 038 chainsaws usually do not go cheap, but when I find one I buy it.

Thanks everyone. As I said my friends G-62 flies his Lanier 1/3 extra with authority-will these conversions match up to a "store bought" engine or should I think of maybe going larger-75cc ? Is there anyone flying this airplane now, and what do you use for power?
