homelite sputter
I have a 30cc homelite that I converted w/ C/H ignition, it ran well for a while 9000 w/ 17x6 apc, but now it sputters at high rpm, or rather it runs dies out like like it looses spark then comes back but it does this quickly. I have cleaned the carb"walbro 167", and have torn the engine down. I do not see any signs of leaning or over heating. Could it be the plug or ignition?

RE: homelite sputter
Sorry, I didn't notice the C-H. I go along with the following post.
Good luck, Jim |
RE: homelite sputter
Low batt can do that. Also weak ign. Try closing the plug gap to .015 or .020. Closer gap is easier to fire with weak ign. Will help pinpoint the problem. Six volt batt may help too but should run on good 4.8.

RE: homelite sputter
Lets see, weak ignition[:o], to MUCH timing advance, bad plug, old gas, hall sensor going bad.
Just check one thing at a time. |
RE: homelite sputter
Hey there tkg thanks for the input, was checking everything and the hall sensor quit all together.. The timing was 28 deg. btc. I guess I'll have to order a new sensor..

RE: homelite sputter
Hey if anyone is interested, I talked to Bill at C/H and he said that he is adding an extra ground from negative of the sensor harness to the case. [I believe that a floating ground fried my sensor]
