new to gas, ready to start

Now that I have finished building planes for other people [:@] I can get back to me, myself and I

I've been bitten by the big-plane bug after watching Pete Rosa fly his 40% at my club's field. The stuff he was doing was amazing.

Anyway, I've got my 31cc Ryobi in the corner of the garage, but I'm concerned it won't be powerfull enough for what I want to do. I want to build a 25% or 30% Edge 540. I do want to be able to hover this thing, but that's not the only focus. Other freestyle stuff like harriers, blenders, rolling harrier turns, etc are in the desired mix too. I can actually do most of these in my SIM now....I just don't sleep much :D

Should I be looking for a 45 homey or 46 poulan? Wish I just had the cash for a DA50...

I had thought about an all-foam build and try one of my MDS68's swinging a 14x4, but I don't think that will cut it and my wife is sick of foam beads all over the house.

I'm a total newbie to this gas conversion stuff, so looking for friendly advice.

As I understand it you need at least enough thrust to equal the weight of the plane. Most Ryobi will handle a 12-14 lb plane but lacks abit to do much hovering.
