Kioritz Ignition System

Hello all,

I am wondering if there is an ignition system out there I can use with my Kioritz 22.1 cc engine. It would be nice to shed the added weight of the flywheel on this already incredibly light engine.

ch-ignitions.com will get you a fine system
also there are a couple threads in this forum about home-made ignitions with lots of good info
i've been using 3W ignitions on these engines but i got them for free, the price to buy these new is a big rip-off, the ch is much cheaper and easier to adapt to your engine and i'd bet that is more reliable too.

Electronic ignition systems are pretty much universal fit. The parts you need to be concerned about are:

1. Hall effect sensor mount. Probably needs to be custom made, but not too difficult.

2. Rotor to mount the small magnet fo the hall effect sensor. It replaces the flywheel and so needs to be machined to fit the crankshaft taper.

Check with Terry at CH Ignitions to see if he has a rotor that fits that particular engine. If not, you might still be able to get someone to machine a rotor for you.
