Homelite Versus Poulan
 

The Home Depot I work at is selling both the Homelite and Poulan 33cc chainsaws for $99.00.

Anyone converted both for airplane use?

Which one is better/easier for a first-try conversion? I would like to put the converted engine on a Balsa USA DVIII project.

Poulan has the coil bolted in the plastic case, when you dissasemble the chain saw you can´t start the engine, but you can use an electronic ignition system, Homelite can work with the magneto because it is bolted directly to the engine.
I have both flying and are very nice engines.

Thanks Platero for the reply. Looks like the Homelite would be the easiest for a first-time conversion. Will give it a try!
