It can be done!!!!

Hello all,

Just wanted to post a shot of my Goldberg Ultimate that has a Homey 25cc in the nose. These are in the bones shots, but as of now, it is covered and will be airworthy in about 2 weeks.

The fuse shot is kind of blurry, but you will get the point!

Best wishes,

Tom

Hope it flies better than mine with a Maloney 100 (New) did. Sure looks nice though! Keep us posted please!

I think my Homey is out turning the Moloney. I am getting about 8500 RPM with an 18 x 6. It seems to work well in the air with a 16 x 10.

The weight was the biggest problem. The plane just flew heavy. I had taken out an ASP 1.20 to put the Maloney in (just for kicks). I think electronic ignition would be the best way to go with any engine in this size just to keep the weight down.

I took steps to make it lighter. If you look at the photos, you can see the lightening holes in the ply fuse and the lightening holes in those slab ailerons. I did a few other little things here and there. I have seen these things come in near 10 pounds with a 120 4 stroke, so mine will come in at 10 pounds with the gasser. Hopefully, it will not fly heavy. These planes are floaters when under 10 pounds, so even if I come in a bit above that, it should be ok. No 3D stuff mind you, just a good solid airplane. I will keep you posted!

Way to go! Sounds like you've got a good handle on things.
